IHSCA is proud to share that 4 of our own students embarked on an incredible mission trip to El Salvador, Ataco, along with Medical Wings International. The goal was to provide support to over 550 families that lived in the majestic mountain communities surrounding the city of Ataco. On November 12, 2021, we had the unveiling event of our first mural collaboration with students, IDPL, and the Brown Wall Project, funded by the Frida Kahlo Organization. This mural focused on bringing culture and education together into one. It was an amazing experience that took months of planning and design for all that will be visible to many, for years to come.

El 12 de Noviembre de 2021, tuvimos el evento de inauguración de nuestra primera colaboración mural con estudiantes, IDPL, el Brown Wall Project, financiado por la Organización Frida Kahlo. Este mural se centró en unir cultura y educación en uno. Fue una experiencia increíble que llevó meses de planificación y diseño de todo lo que será visible para muchos en los próximos años.

The Face Forward Project gives vaccinated teens (12-18 yrs) a chance to get their personalized portraits made. These one-of-a-kind portraits embody the optimism and ambition of Chicago teens who’ve chosen to protect themselves and those around them by getting the vaccine.

The City of Chicago hopes The Face Forward Project will be a great reminder for Chicago to keep looking ahead, because our future is optimistic and safe when our children are vaccinated.
