It is important that all students understand and meet their objectives each year in order to stay on track for graduation and be ready for a post-secondary college or career pathway. Students are encouraged to access the documents on the right as they are very useful tools that will aid in the success of our students. ■submit a pre-FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) (If eligible)
■research (10) potential colleges / universities
■write one (1) general scholarship essay
■complete and begin to finalize student portfolio
■Sign-up for ACT if needed
■Research and apply for experiential opportunities
■design a usable resume and compose appropriate cover letters
12th Grade Objectives
■meet a variety of application deadlines on a regular basis
■apply to five (5) colleges and/or post-secondary schools—two safety schools, two target schools and two reach schools
■gain acceptance into at least two schools including a four year university
■complete both college and scholarship application trackers/checklists
■write and craft personal statements to fit the needs of a college prompt
■write one (1) general personal statement
■submit completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) (If eligible)
■research and apply for at least (2) scholarships that require an essay
■complete career inventories
■design a usable resume and compose appropriate cover letters
■compile a list of four (4) candidates to write letters of recommendation
■compile a personal fact sheet to accompany recommendation requests
■set attainable short and long term financial goals
