Blue Door Neighborhood Center Workshop

 Every parent meeting kicks off with a workshop that is presented by the Blue Door Neighborhood Center. This workshop was centered around how to establish SMART Goals.

 Dr. Alonzo – School Updates

- If your child has any issues or concerns about their grades, please work with our school to get you the help and support the student needs.
- If you are considering transferring to another school, we ask that you work with our school to see if there are any considerations on having your child stay with us. We will support and accommodate families to ensure student success.
- Dr. Alonzo is also serving IJLA as the Interim Principal while continuing to be IHSCA’s School Principal.
- Regarding COVID, we continue to ensure that are a safe environment and will continue with screenings and COVID testing.

The Frida Community Organization

 The Friday community organization is a non-for-profit organization that serves our community and has formed a partnership with IHSCA that has enabled us to bring in more programming for both students and parents.

 Access Testing

- January 31st-February 25th
- Students can place out of ELL if they score above a 4.8

NELD

- 1st college tour to Harold Washington College
- Phoenix Friends chosen by 2/11 and beginning 2/28
- Newcomer School Supplies

Biliteracy Seal

- 15-18 students completed the application (4 automatic recipients)
- Testing in April
- Accomplishment on transcript, seal, and medal

Super Saturdays SAT Prep

- Alternating English/writing and Math sessions
- 9-12pm
